The death of an American student whose body was found in the water at a Barcelona beach days after he was reported missing remains a mystery as police say foul play is not believed to be involved.

The family of Jimmy Gracey, 20, said they are "so grateful for the kindness and concern that has been shown ... during this incredibly difficult time."

Gracey was a native of Illinois and went to the University of Alabama where he was a member of Theta Chi.
