Welcome to the island of Abaco in The Bahamas! This is one of the northern islands in the island chain, which still boasts some of the healthier reefs in the Caribbean. More specifically, our study site is the Sandy Cay Reef, which is located in a protected marine park. Divers routinely see larger reef dwelling critters like spotted eagle rays and Caribbean reef sharks cruising these lagoons.
