The Chair of Saint Peter, or Throne of Saint Peter, is a relic housed in St. Peter's Basilica. Traditionally believed to have belonged to the Apostle Saint Peter, the first Pope and bishop of Rome, this wooden throne is enclosed in a gilded bronze casing designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and constructed between 1647 and 1653.
